Message from the Chair
StayPec was founded in 2018 as a not-for-profit tourism marketing organization with a mandate to market Prince Edward County as a tourism destination. With an emphasis on building shoulder and off-season tourism, marketing initiatives directly benefit the accommodation sector. In 2022, StayPEC was recognized by The County of Prince Edward as a “legitimate tourism entity”. Funds for marketing initiatives come from a share of the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT), collected from accommodators within The County, in accordance with the Provincial legislation.
Membership in StayPEC is free to all roofed accommodation providers in Prince Edward County. Our members comprise hotels, motels, inns, Bed and Breakfasts, cottages, partial and whole STA’s representing 1200+ units and beds.
Our members are front-line ambassadors to The County. Our guests rely on us to keep them safe and comfortable during their stay and to help them enjoy the best experience possible. StayPEC members and their guests make a sizable contribution to the overall economic wellbeing of The County. We also play a vital role in the promotion of responsible and sustainable growth of local tourism.
With some of the most beautiful freshwater beaches and sand dunes in the world. Prince Edward County has been a very popular summertime destination for many years. More recently The County has built a reputation as a must-go destination for food, wine, art and nature lovers throughout the whole year. With a vibrant and varied dining scene, 40+ wineries, craft breweries, cideries and distilleries, artist studios and galleries, and spectacular natural setting, The County welcomes visitors year-round.
